Changes to Semester 2 -Spring teaching Calendar

18 - 5 - 2012

Semester 2 extension of teaching dates, Spring 2012:

Please note the following changes to the Spring 2012 teaching and exam dates:

· Extension of semester teaching days from 11 to 19th June 2012 (previously days off for study purposes and exam dates) Wednesday 6 June 2012 is the last day of teaching for “Wednesday Courses

· Wednesday 13 June 2012 will be used for make-up sessions. Make-up sessions will be scheduled upon tutors’ request.

· The last day of teaching is the 19 of June 2012.

· 20, 21 and 27 June 2012 are days off for study purposes.

· 22, 25, 26, 28 and 29 June 2012 are the exam dates.

Summer Semester:

· 1st day of teaching is 2nd July 2012

· Last day of teaching 27 July 2012.

· 16 and 31 July 2012 are the dates for the mid-term and final exam retrospectively.

Masters courses:

· The last day of teaching is the 15 of June 2012.

· 20, 21 and 27 June 2012 are the exam dates.

Senior Project Dates:

· July defense dates from 18 - 27 of July. September dates will be set later.

الامانة العامة للجامعة الانطونية: لن نساوم على ثوابت هوية الجامعة وتاريخها الرهباني

March 20, 2012

اعلنت الامانة العامة لجامعة الاباء الانطونيين انه “بعدما تقدمت مجموعة من الطلاب في جامعة الآباء الأنطونيين “الجامعة الأنطونية” الحدث – بعبدا، من إدارة الجامعة بطلب تأمين مصلى للطلاب المسلمين الراغبين بتأدية صلاتهم في أثناء الدوام الجامعي. وبعد عدم استجابة الإدارة لهذا الطلب نظرا لخصوصيات الحرم الجامعي التابع للرهبنة الأنطونية، إخترق سبعة وثلاثون طالبا هذه الخصوصية وعمدوا إلى أداء الصلاة في الباحة الداخلية للجامعة، مفترشين الأرض أمام مدخل الإدارة ومدخل كنيسة الجامعة (سيدة الجامعة) في طابع من التحدي والاستفزاز.

بناء عليه، فإن إدارة الجامعة، وتمسكا منها بثوابتها التربوية، وتحاشيا لتصرفات مماثلة في المستقبل، تجد أنه من الضروري توضيح ما يأتي:

- إن إدارة الجامعة تتقيد بتوجيهات الرئاسة العامة للرهبانية الأنطونية المارونية، المرجعية الأعلى للجامعة، وهذه المرجعية لا تسمح بالتفاوض حول تشييد أي مكان للصلاة خارج طائفتها، وفي أية مؤسسة من مؤسساتها التربوية والثقافية والدينية. وبذلك، فإن إدارة “جامعة الآباء الأنطونيين” في مقرها في بعبدا-الحدث وفي فرعيها زحلة – النبي إيليا، وزغرتا – مجدليا، ترفض أي طلب يتقدم إليها بهذا الخصوص، ولا تجر نفسها لأي مفاوضات تمس ثوابتها. كما أنها ترفض أية مساومة بهذا الخصوص، وتحذر من أي استفزاز حول هذا الشأن. وهي تدعو طلابها من أي طائفة كانوا إلى التناغم مع هويتها الأصيلة وتطبيق أنظمتها حفاظا على خصوصية هذا الحرم المؤسسة.

- إن هوية جامعتنا الأنطونية، هوية واضحة وثابتة: جامعة خاصة، مسيحية، كاثوليكية، مارونية، أنطونية منفتحة، تستقبل في رحابها الطلاب كافة بمختلف مذاهبهم وطوائفهم وانتماءاتهم الاجتماعية، إلا أنها لا تساوم على ثوابت هويتها وتاريخها الرهباني.

- إن إدارة الجامعة تطلع مسبقا على نشاطات طلابها ضمن البرنامج الأكاديمي أو خارجه، وتخضعه لرقابتها وموافقتها، أيا يكن نوعه، ثقافيا، اجتماعيا وحتى دينيا. كما أنها ترفض رفضا قاطعا إقامة أي نشاط سياسي داخل حرمها.

- إن أي تصرف يصدر عن الطلاب، أيا كان انتماؤهم الديني أو السياسي، ويخالف قوانين الجامعة وأنظمتها، يضعهم أمام مسؤوليتهم، وبذلك، تكون إدارة الجامعة هي الوحيدة التي تحتكم في ما يتعلق بمعاقبتهم بالطرق المناسبة تبعا لقانونها الداخلي. ولذا، فإن الإدارة سوف تتوجه الى الطلاب المخالفين ظهر يوم الإثنين الواقع فيه 19 آذار الحالي، وتتخذ بحقهم الإجراءات المناسبة.
